Driver History

Since 1993 when the team was formed, Z Speed Racing has engineered cars to over 70 race wins and more than 110 podium finishes. along with 6 National racing championships.

In addition to the success that Martin Byford has enjoyed driving for Z Speed (see below) the team also won the British Formula Three Class 'B' Championship for the 2nd consecutive year with New Zealand racer Simon Wills in 1996, after Martin took the title in 1995.

Z Speed drivers also took race wins in the in 1996 National Formula Ford Championship and the British Formula Renault Championship.

Martin Byford is the Z Speed Racing Team Driver and as you will see below he has had a wealth of success at the wheel with the backing of his dedicated team.

Even in his early racing years Martin demonstrated exceptional promise with 2 x Nominations for Autosport Young Driver of the Year ‘92’ & ‘95’.
